What Is Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)?
Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), also called â€œSocial Phobiaâ€ is one of the most psychiatric disorders and common form of anxiety in general. It affects approximately 12% of Americans in their life time and by definition is linked to feelings of intense fear in one or more social situations. Not only does this cause considerable stress, but it also leads to the impaired ability to perform vital daily tasks.

According to the study conducted by the Brazilian researchers, it was revealed that 10 people with a diagnosis of Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) using CBD benefited from reduced anxiety and feelings of fear. The CBD helped in easing negative thinking patterns and mood swings, especially when consumed on a regular basis. The researchers also used functional neuro-imaging to gauge the amount of blood flow in various parts of the brain to note the effects of CBD.
These neuro-imaging results revealed that patients with SAD and their brains had more calm and relaxed responses. This means, the Cerebral blood flow after consuming CBD points to anti-anxiety (anxiolytic) effects in areas of the brain that are known to control emotions. After receiving an oral dose of 400 mg of CBD, patients of the first and second session were also known to be treated completely after a certain amount of time.
However, while the results of this study appear to be promising, many scientists have suggested that the same size of 10 participants is to less to indicate CBD and its effects on Social Anxiety Disorder.
